Welcome Kelly Bankole
Kelly is the Aviation Program Coordinator. She started flying when she was 15 years old, and upon graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Geography, accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force. Kelly also served as a C-130 navigator for 17 years in a number of diverse missions, including typhoon reconnaissance, electronic warfare and airdrop, and has been stationed on the island of Guam, Arizona, North Carolina, and most recently, here at the Minneapolis airport with the Air Force Reserves Flying Vikings. Kelly completed her Master's degree from Golden Gate University in Public Administration while stationed in Arizona. With 2900 hours flight hours, Kelly has been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel throughout the world, with Italy and England being favorite stops. She likes to spend spare time with family, reading (especially English history around the times of King Henry VIII), searching for antiques, and getting in a good fitness work out. Kelly is looking forward to helping anyone interested in pursuing a career in aviation. Please contact her with any questions, or just stop by and introduce yourself.

New Director of Education
Please welcome Kathryn Biddle to Academy College. Kathryn comes to Academy College with extensive experience in education management and instruction. Please stop by and introduce yourself to our new Director of Education.

Library News
Books are consistently being added to the collection and as they are added they are placed on the New Acquisitions shelf for patrons to browse. While most directly support specific courses or areas of study, others are more of a general liberal arts nature and some are just good reads. With time and space permitting, the library section of the newsletter will do a spotlight on a few of the newer acquisitions. Works are organized by call letter. more >>>

Message from the Financial Aid Dept:
HEADS UP! - 1098-T FORMS COMING YOUR WAY
The IRS offers two tax credits for payments toward tuition, the Hope Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit. Academy College mails out 1098-T forms to each regular student who had tuition charged in the previous year. Your 1098-T forms will be mailed to you on or before January 31, 2006. When you receive this form (it looks similar to a W-2), please put it in a safe place until you complete your 2006 taxes. If you are a dependent student and your parent(s) will claim you on their 2006 Federal 1040, you should give the 1098-T form to them.
Instructions and the form needed to claim the credit are available at the Financial Aid/Business Office.
If you need anything from the Financial Aid/Business Office, please feel free to stop by. We have smiles, forms, information, and are just waiting for the opportunity to show you what we can do for you.
Financial Aid is open Monday-Thursday until 8:30PM and Fridays until 5PM.
